Hitting the Work Wall

First things first, Joey and I had a great date-iversary. The hotel was amazing, and it was really relaxing to pretend we were on vacation. And we loved Jersey Boys in Wednesday. Here are a few pics:

All in all, a great way to ring in our next year together.

Now, back to business.

Everyone has one: that moment where you just cannot do one more work-related thing.

For some reason, it has been worse this week. I know! And it’s a four-day week! You know how I never know what day it is? Well, this week is especially bad. But not how you’d think.

You know how everyone has been walking around being like, “Man, I can’t believe it’s already Thursday! I keep thinking it’s Wednesday!”

Well on Wednesday, I was in line for lunch, and these two guys in front of me were talking about the short week, and the one guy was like, “Pretty cool it’s already  Wednesday!” I kid you not, it took everything in me not to be like, “It’s what day?”

Yup, convinced myself it was already Thursday. On a short week. Thing are bad.

Well, the Work Wall is a force to be reckoned with. You know the feeling. One second you’re plodding along — filing, editing, updating — the next you can’t do anything except keep refreshing Yahoo news to see if anything new has gone up.

The thought if doing more work is actually repulsive, and your restlessness is at an all-time high.

That’s the Work Wall.

Fortunately, today is Friday, and I get out at three. Plus, I’ve got Chop’t Friday to get me through.

Let’s scale that wall, folks.
