On the education system

Joe:
*sigh* a teacher sent this email:
“Good morning guys,

The printer in my office is low on toner and is not printing good.

[named removed to protect the poor at grammar]”

me:
haha
It’s printing bad things, Joey.
Pictures of wars and rapists.

Joe:
well, say that..
lol
A TEACHER THOUGH, Justine!

me:
what KIND of teacher?

Joe:
responsible for raising and training our youths!
…Math, but STILL!

me:
haha

I’m rubbing off on him so nicely, aren’t I?

  1. Every time somebody asks me how I’m doing, I know I’m supposed to say ‘well’ not ‘good.’

But I just can’t say it.

When I say, “I’m good, how are you?” And they answer, “I’m well, thanks.”

I just start thinking, “Oh are you? Are you well? Well and proper. You know so much. I’m good. I got to work on time this morning. I obeyed all traffic laws on the way in. I’m good.”

So maybe that whole conversation doesn’t happen every time. And I definitely use well in cases involving how things are working, but I still have something about well and good that get to me.

Sorry for this totally pointless comment. It’s Monday 🙂

    • Haha such strong feelings on Mondays! But I know what you mean. Sometimes proper grammar can sound a little stilted. I’ve just been ruined by my journalism career ha.
