Dress it Up: Shabby Apple Giveaway

***Giveaway is closed. The winner is Danielle! Thanks to everyone who entered.

Is it just me, or is there something about the weather changing that makes you want to throw out every piece of clothing you own and replace it with something new?

Given the success of a little thing called “the fashion industry” and it’s seasonal calendar of releases, I’m going to guess that no, it’s not just me.

But as much as I would like to start from scratch every spring and fall, it’s not exactly what you would call fiscally responsible. Unless you are a Kardashian, in which case, you’re reading my blog? What?

But I have good news! The good people of Shabby Apple (who specialize in vintage-style clothing) recently reached out to me and offered a free Hackney dress to one of my readers!

All you have to do is click here to see Shabby Apple’s collection of vintage clothing, then come back and leave a comment with your favorite style. On Monday, June 20th, I’ll randomly select a winner. You have until 11:59 p.m. EST on June 9th to enter. (Note: Must be a United States resident.)

Good luck!

Product Review: SOYJOY Bars

Happy 3-day weekend, lovelies!

I know I don’t usually post on weekends, but I wanted to share something fun with you that you might want to check out this weekend. Have you heard of Influenster? Basically it’s a program that you can sign up with and receive (totally free) products and samples to test and provide feedback for.

A few days ago, I received the Spring Beauty VoxBox, packed with fun stuff for, you guessed it, spring.

I won’t get into everything just yet, but I do want to talk about that pretty pink SOYJOY bar.

I’ve seen SOYJOY before, but never had a chance to try one. Each bar is gluten free and made from real soy and fruit. (AKA, it’s a guilt-free snack.) For the sake of science, I documented my first experience.

Obviously, I’m quite excited to try it.

Taking a bite…

It’s good!

So there you have it, folks. If you’re looking for a healthy treat this weekend, SOYJOY bars won’t disappoint. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have some important things to…um…*nomnomnom*

Oh, um…look away!

Have a great weekend!

Giveaway: Estylo Cufflinks

So it feels like we just wrapped up the last giveaway on this ol’ blog of mine, but I’m excited to announce that I have a new one to post!

As you all know, I love I love how it gives the sellers the opportunity to actually garner a profit from their craftiness, and I love how it enables the buyers to obtain or give truly unique, totally awesome products. It’s an all-around win-win.

Quite a few of my sponsors are also Etsy sellers, but I’m also open to hosting giveaways for non-sponsor businesses.

Which is why I was so excited when Estylo Cufflinks expressed interest in sponsoring a giveaway this month!

Estylo Cufflinks is a husband and wife shop run by Alberto and Sandra from south San Francisco. They live there with their Boston Terrier Pancho (adorable) and create handmade and custom cufflinks set in clear resin.

Sandra and Alberto sent me a set of these Black and White Abstract cufflinks to review, and the hubs was pretty thrilled with them. The design is completely seamless and they look awesome with pretty much all of his dress shirts.

So now the fun part. Estylo Cufflinks is giving away a pair of their snazzy links to one of my readers! To enter, simply visit their shop and leave a comment about which set you would love to own. Two of my favorites are these All You Need is Love cufflinks and this snappy Handmade Mustache set. Wouldn’t they be so perfect as a gift to a groom, an anniversary present, or just an every-day-remember-how-much-I-like-you surprise?

Really, really want to win? Simply complete any of these tasks for an additional entry. Be sure to leave an additional comment for any task you complete so it can be counted in the final results.

1. Like Estylo Jewelry on Facebook
2. Like Stop Me if You’ve Heard This One on Facebook

4. Subscribe to Stop Me if You’ve Heard This One (online readers count!)

Giveaway: Gloria Joy Art + Design

Update: The winner of this giveaway has been selected, and it is now closed. The winner is Madison! Thanks to everyone who entered.

So you you know that I love feeling fancy. But aside from getting my hair washed, the one thing that really makes me feel fancy is having something custom-made. (Remember when I had that hairpiece made for my wedding? Perfect example.)

Well, one thing my home has always been sorely lacking in is actual art. I mean, sure, I can boast Etsy prints with the best of them, but in terms of paintings and sculpture, I’ve got nothing.

Until now.

Remember when I started adding sponsors to my blog? Well, I was really, really excited to include my blog friend Gloria, an artist and designer who also writes the blog A Little Paint. Gloria is one of those all-around crafty people who paints, sews, designs, and could probably whip up a reupholstered chair in minutes if she had to.

Gloria has a few finished paintings that she sells in her Etsy shop, but she also does custom paintings.

Cue my excitement.

When I approached Gloria about doing a giveaway on the blog, she immediately offered to give away a custom piece of art. Um, hi? She’s amazing.

And I can personally attest to the quality of her work. I think you know where this is going…

Meet my new favorite piece of art EVER:

I sent Gloria a photo of a painting I liked, along with the colors I was going for, and she whipped this little beauty up. I love how the colors blend together, especially the dabs of gold. And it looks perfect in our living room!

Now for the best part — the giveaway! Gloria has offered a custom 11×14 painting or the choice of the same size of one already available in her shop! (I’ve got a little crush on that one of the pears…)

To enter, simply visit Gloria’s shop and then leave a comment below describing what kind of painting you would like her to do for you if you won. (Abstract? Portrait of your dog? Get creative!)

Really, really want to win? Complete any of the below tasks for an additional entry. Just don’t forget to leave an additional comment for each task you do so I know you did it. (If you’ve already done one them in the past, you can leave a comment for that too.)

1. Follow Stop Me if You’ve Heard This One (email subscription or online readers both count, just say which one you do in your comment)
2. Follow me on Twitter
3. Subscribe to A Little Paint
4. Follow Gloria on Twitter
5. Like Stop Me if You’ve Heard This One on Facebook
6. Tweet the following message to help promote the giveaway (leave a link to your tweet in your comment):

“I would love to win @justinelorelle’s giveaway from @gloriafeeley!”

And that’s it! You have until 11:59 p.m. EST on March 4th to enter, and I’ll be randomly selecting and announcing the winner on March 5th.

Good luck!

My Weekend and a Giveaway Winner!

Here’s a quick breakdown of my weekend.

1. The boots had their inaugural stroll on the first snowy day on the Island. And let me tell you. They lived up to the hype.

2. The same day, I went into the city to see two people. (It was really cold and made me not miss standing on that platform all the more.

3. My first appointment of the day was brunch with my new friend Berna. She had actually found me through this here blog and wanted to chat about some things (the first meeting of its kind for me), but we also found out beforehand that we have several mutual friends. (Don’t worry, parents, I’m not meeting total randos just because they like my blog.)

4. My second appointment was to meet up with Erin for a quick perusal of Forever 21, followed up with coffee, soup, and cookies. It was lovely, per usual.

5. That night, our friend’s dad’s band was playing at a semi-nearby bar, so we went to watch. It. Was. Adorable. Plus, they actually rocked, so good times were had all around. (They play The Devil Went Down to Georgia, and it’s awesome. If you don’t like that song…I have nothing more to say to you.)

6. I recently joined the BlogHer Book Club, and the first book I’m going to review is The Weird Sisters by Eleanor Brown, so I read that this weekend as well. Naturally, I have plenty of thoughts, but I (and the other reviewers) won’t be sharing them until February 8th. Stay tuned!

In other news, we have a giveaway winner! And it is…Melanie S.! Ilene of Much Love, illy will be contacting you soon about your prize. Thanks to everyone who entered, and congratulations, Melanie!

Anyone else have fun weekend plans to share? Seems only fitting for a Monday morning.
